Roger Waters The Wall Live Tour

One of my favourite features of the Neptune Pink Floyd website is the extensive photo collection. In particular, the Roger Waters photos should be of keen interest to those visiting this blog website. There are not just tour pictures from his current tour, but opther historical archived photos for you to enjoy. So, the Roger Waters tour is now back in the USA having already done its first night in Texas last night. There is another concert at the University of Texas tomorrow night (3rd May 2012) before the The Wall tour heads off to Oklahoma. It seems like an eternity since Roger Waters performed The Wall Live Concert on his 2012 tour! The band, tour crew and Roger have been having a nice rest since performing on 1st April 2012 at Estádio do Morumbi in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The tour will commence once again when it wakes up in the Foro De Sol in Mexico City, Mexico. There will be two performances here on 27th and 28th April 2012 taking the total concerts performed in Mexico by Roger Waters to 9, of which 5 will have been on The Wall Live tour. This concludes both the April shows and Roger’s performances in Mexico.

Now out come the big trucks and containers to move the massive great wall all the way to Houston, Texas. Roger Waters will be performing at the Toyota Center on 1st May 2012 to kick off the 2012 USA and Canada tour dates. Roger will perform 10 concerts in USA before visiting Canada where he will be performing in Vancouver, BC. He will perform at BC Place. He then heads back to USA then back to Canada, then USA again. Why would he not do all the Canadian concerts in sequence to save on the petrol money? ha!

New Roger Waters Music Video for ALAS Foundation Charity

Roger Waters has been working on a music video to promote the activities of the ALAS Foundation charity whose aim is to help children in poverty in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The song is called ‘The Child Will Fly” and is being directed by Argentine director Diego Kaplan. Roger was working on this back in 2008.

The song is 12 minutes long and features Shakira, Eric Clapton, Pedro Aznar and Gustavo Cerati, who have worked actively in the campaigns of the Foundation.

The filming for the video began on 3rd March and a few more recording days were scheduled in to complete it. It could well be shown at on of the remaining Wall Concerts in Argentina this month.

When more is know about it, I shall let you know.
