Roger Waters Wall Tour - London O2 - 18th May 2011

It’s Wednesday morning, May 18, as I fly with a friend from Amsterdam to London Stansted, to visit Roger’s last show in London. After a short visit at Battersea Powerstation we went by underground to the O2 Arena. What an amazing venue and all what’s around. We had dinner at a Mexican food restaurant and had time enough to visit the exhibition “Shine On: Pink Floyd In Focus”.

Time to go to our seats at BK 408. Left in the back and almost hitting the roof of the Arena. Then, 8.15 pm, the show started with a powerful In The Flesh including fireworks and crashing Stuka! Woow what a great begin. I’ve already seen 3 shows before, at the Gelredome Arnhem (The Netherlands), but this venue has a much better acoustic, also at our seats at the roof. The whole show was amazing, the only thing that wasn’t good, was Snowy’s solo in Mother.

I’m sorry Snowy! Roger was again top fit and entertaining the audience, Kilminster a great solo with Comfortably Numb, a pity Gilmour wasn’t there, but Roger’s choice to take Kilminster on tour is a best choice. The most negative experience of the London show was some actions from a lot “fans”. Constant walking up and down, getting beer and disturbing real fans who came to see the show. And to those who left the show before ending Outside The Wall: This is without respect to Roger and band.

Making pics and recording some vids was very difficult, cos of the distance, but I thought good enough to share with other fans. Time goes by so fast and before we realised, the show was over. It was great to see the show in London, and now only left for me Roger’s show on may 27 at Antwerp. Around 11.30 pm we left the O2 and went back to our hotel near Hyde Park.

Here some songs I’ve uploaded to Youtube:

From looking at all the reviews being posted on news websites and on the NPF Forum, the show was a great success and was a very enjoyable experience indeed!

Of course there will be lots of videos appearing on YouTube and other such places of The Wall tour! I hope when I go to watch the show I am not blinded by the sea of camera phones in front of me capturing pointless low quality images and distorted sounds! But moaning aside, here are some videos of The Wall Tour.
