Roger Waters The Wall Quebec

Roger Waters The Wall Quebec

Roger Waters performed his final concert of 2012 last night at Les Plaines D’Abraham in Canada in what was possibly the most stunning concert on the 192 date tour. The wall was extended far further than all the other stadium concerts performed with a nice curvy wall that local people made their own artistic boards for which were stuck up on the wall.

Roger Waters Tour 2013?

In an interview before the concert, Roger Waters once again hinted that the tour will resume in 2013 as they have got quite good at performing the show now after doing it 192 times all over the world. The concert last night was filmed professionally as you would expect with it being as spectaular as it was and being the final show on the tour in 2012. However, not all of the show was recorded, just bits to capture what it was like. So the question on many people’s minds is when will the Roger Waters Wall Live Tour be released on DVD? In time for Christmas perhaps with the 5.1 mix of the original studio album that has been created and not included in the Immersion box set?

The shows have been filmed several times over the years including London’s O2 arena where David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined Roger on stage for a couple of songs. The Wall Live was also filmed in Greece where there were very strict rules about photography and lights from mobile phones. I imagine the video from many of these tours will be used in one final DVD with the best looking and sounding performances being used on the final DVD.

In addition to the 2013 tour dates and Wall Live DVD, Roger is now going to start work on his next studio album which he has been partially writing whilst out on the road touring for the past three years. Now Roger has been talking about doing a new album for many years so it remains to be seen but perhaps now he finally has the album project at the forefrtont of his mind to complete it and give us fans something new to listen to.

So, plenty going on! Have a watch of Roger Waters getting quite excited and pleased about his final concert of 2012.

From Roger Waters Facebook

“Over the new year 2009-2010, an international group of 1500 men and women from 42 nations went to Egypt to join a Freedom March to Gaza. They did this to protest the current blockade of Gaza. To protest the fact that the people of Gaza live in a virtual prison. To protest the fact that a year after the terror attack by Israeli armed forces destroyed most of their homes, hospitals, schools, and other public buildings, they have no possibility to rebuild because their borders are closed. The would be Freedom Marchers wanted to peacefully draw attention to the predicament of the Palestinian population of Gaza. The Egyptian government, (funded to the tune of $2.1 billion a year, by us, the US tax payers), would not allow the marchers to approach Gaza. How lame is that? And how predictable! I live in the USA and during this time Dec 25th 2009 – Jan 3rd 2010 I saw no reference to Gaza or the Freedom March or the multi national protesters gathered there. Anyway I was moved, in the circumstances, to record a new version of “We Shall Overcome”. It seems appropriate.
