Roger Waters New Album

Roger Waters New Album

Now that The Wall tour is almost over, fan’s can look forward to Roger Waters making a new album! Roger confirmed again in an interview with the BBC today on their Hard Talk program that “”I’ve had a few breakthroughs recently which I won’t talk about,” he told Stephen Sackur, “but I am going to make another record.”

“I’ve had a very, very strong idea and I shall pursue it. I will make at least one more record and I am really looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into it.”

Roger has commented several times over the years about making a new album and that he has been working on building up a collection of songs. But this is another encouraging sign that there could well be a brand new studio album from Roger Waters to look forward to!

Roger Waters last album was his Ca Ira opera project that has had a few live performances over the years. Apart from compilation and live albums, his last proper studio album was the highly regarded Amused To Death album which is a personal favourite of your humble narrator here!

So, a new Roger Waters album? What would you expect from it? What style would you like it to be in? As grand as Pink Floyd or more reflective/folk? Leave a comment below or talk to us on our forum about Roger Waters new album.

I don’t know what would motivate him to make a new album, he has achieved everything he needs to in life.

The world events over the past decade and a half would be more motivation this man would ever need. I honestly can’t wait to see where it all goes.

I had been hoping for a tribute to Richard Wright, with all members of Floyd involved… As well as perhaps some guest spots from keyboardists who might count Wright as an influence… But to be honest, what ever inspires Waters to make an album and get properly angry… Perhaps the NSA revelations, the crackdown on journalism and whistleblowers, the never-ending wars… It’s time for Waters to make his musical voice heard (and I hope it’s ‘Floydian,’ proggy, and I hope Gilmour is equally involved as singer and guitarist).
